What qualifications, certifications, experience and training do you require of your caregivers?
Each Comfort Keepers® is screened through extensive background checks, is insured and bonded, and is covered by Workers' Compensation insurance to protect our clients and their families.
Are your caregivers employed by your company or hired as private contractors?
Comfort Keepers® does not outsource to private contractors. We directly hire all of our caregivers with full workers compensation.
Do you supervise your caregivers to make sure the proper care is given?
All agencies make scheduled quality assurance calls and visits.
Do you have a systematic method for tracking caregivers arrival and departure?
Our caregivers are required to check-in to a central tracking system, which records client telephone number with arrival and departure times.
Are your caregivers bonded and insured?
All of our caregivers are fully bonded and insured.
Do you provide 24-hour telephone service to handle emergencies?
Yes. Our staff is available 24 hours per day.
What’s the minimum hours per shift?
The minimum shift is 4 hours.
Does Comfort Keepers® have a business office where I can meet you or your LPN or RPN?
All Comfort Keepers® have a business office where you can meet your LPN or RPN and tailor our services to our clients.
Do your clearly publish your rates?
Comfort Keepers® will provide a complete rate schedule to each client at the initial assessment and an itemized invoice each week.
Do you provide documentation that states the rights and responsibilities of the client and the company’s privacy, code of ethics, and HIPAA policies?
Comfort Keepers® is fully compliant with HIPAA policies. All rights and responsibilities between the clients are clearly explained and documented to each client at the initial assessment.
Can you provide an emergency monitoring system, fall protection devices an/or automated medication dispensers if needed?
Comfort Keeper provides a full service of emergency monitoring system, fall protection devices and automated medication dispensers at additional cost.
Are you certified by a government agency to provide homecare?
Some of our offices are certified to serve Medicaid clients. We also service veterans through the Veterans Affair (VA) office. Call to find the closes provider near you.
Will my family member have a dedicated caregiver?
Comfort Keepers® understands the relationship between quality care and consistent service. At Comfort Keepers®, we make every attempt to maximize continuity of care between caregiver and client.
Does Comfort Keepers® conduct in home visit before starting the home care service?
Yes. At Comfort Keepers®, we believe it is important the client and family members discuss the kind of care needed to determine the in- home care required to meet your needs.
Do you work with my doctor in developing a plan of care?
Comfort Keepers® will work directly with your doctor in arranging and planning for your care.
Do I have to sign a long-term contract?
Comfort Keepers® will provide a complete invoice on a weekly basis. Services can be cancelled at any time.
